CLEVELAND —April 6, 2011
U.S. Foodservice-Cleveland, food distributor to some of the
most recognized and popular restaurants in the greater Akron and Cleveland area, hosted
the 2011 Celebration of Flavors Showcase on Tuesday, April 5, at Windows on the River in
downtown Cleveland. The day-long event brought together some of the region’s best
chefs, restaurant owners and managers and foodservice executives to learn about new
dining trends, demonstrate cooking techniques, and sample creative dishes to add to their
menus.
“We brought together top chefs from U.S. Foodservice and Cleveland-area restaurants to
demonstrate their culinary expertise and discuss the latest trends in dining and food
products, said Shawn McCall, division president, U.S. Foodservice-Cleveland. “We hold
these events a few times a year to help customers stay on the cutting edge of dining and
make their business more successful.”
Four cooking competitions took place throughout the day with local celebrity chefs
showcasing their cooking skills and competing for prizes.
Winners in the four local chef competitions were:
- Cleveland Browns player-turned-chef Al “Bubba” Baker of Bubba Q’s for his Knife and Fork Pork Steak Rib
